Deutsche Wurlitzer

One More Time “OMT” 1015

Deutsche Wurlitzer was formed after the original Wurlitzer company moved to Germany. Produced between 1987 and 2016, the OMT had a production run of about 50,000 which rivals the original Wurlitzer 1015.

What is the difference between the original Wurlitzer 1015 and the OMT?

The original 1015 was made by Wurlitzer in North Tonawanda, New York in 1946–1947 and plays 78 RPM records. It uses a tube amplifier and an entirely mechanical selection system. The OMT (One More Time) was made by Deutsche Wurlitzer in Germany starting in 1987 as a faithful visual reproduction. It uses a 100-selection 45 RPM vinyl or CD mechanism and solid-state electronics. The cabinets look nearly identical to the untrained eye, but the internals are completely different. Originals are generally more valuable but require more specialized knowledge to restore.
